Q: How do you leverage data to drive targeted instruction?
FEV’s Academic Team analyzes preexisting State Assessment Data and Benchmark Assessment Data (ex. NWEA MAP, iReady, etc.) in order to develop an individualized tutoring plan for each student. In addition to the quantitative data, we also collaborate closely with Teachers and Instructional Leaders to gather qualitative feedback looking at curriculum resources like pacing guides, scope & sequence, etc. FEV Tutor actually assigns a designated ‘Academic Success Coach’ (former classroom teacher) to collaborate closely with Teachers and Instructional Leaders throughout the program with the goal and purpose of syncing tutoring instruction with the core learning environment. Each one of our targeted tutoring lessons concludes with an Exit Ticket which provides all key stakeholders with formative assessment data used for progress monitoring.
