Troubleshooting with Whiteboard and Chat

Please run a speed test to make sure your internet is up to speed for FEV Tutor. The minimum amount of bandwidth required to use FEV Tutor is 1 Mbps per connection. Variables such as the number of users, low-performing devices, security appliances (e.g., content filter and firewall), jitter, latency, and so on can greatly influence the way the overall system, whiteboard, and chat perform regardless of the amount of bandwidth. If students have multiple windows and tabs open, this could cause a delay in the system's overall performance. Especially with the whiteboard itself. Please ensure all students only have FEV Tutor opened on their computer during tutoring sessions.
Sometimes an Anti-Virus such as McAfee will block students from utilizing fevtutor.com and/or the whiteboard. In order to disable:
Open the Chrome browser
Click on the three-dot menu icon in the upper right corner.
Click on More tools
Click the toggle button of the extension you want to disable.
** It is very important to let the student know to enable McAfee again after the session ends.
*** Students may need to contact the school IT Dept to disable the extension.
In addition, please contact your school administrator and confirm that all ports and domains related to FEV Tutor have been whitelisted on the school’s network to ensure there are no issues moving forward.
Finally, please be sure that there are no ad blockers, Chrome extensions, or third-party apps that may interfere with the settings within the students' devices and our services; your school administrator may be able to assist with this step.
